Qigong classes are held in St James Church Hall, 20A Church Path, Emsworth, Hampshire, PO10 7DP.
*** beginners welcome ***
You may have listened to Michael Mosely‘s episode about Tai Chi. In case you missed it here is the BBC link: Michael Moseley on Tai Chi
It lists many of the health benefits associated with Tai Chi and Qigong (they are broadly similar, see About Qigong for more information).
Classes are inclusive: beginners mixing with more experienced participants, everyone totally absorbed in their own slow, graceful movements; many attend to maintain their good health, others have chronic health conditions; some require a chair by them or take time out during the class; the elderly mix with younger generations.
All classes are full.
Every Tuesday, 2pm to 3pm
Every Wednesday, 9.30am to 10.30am
Every Wednesday, 11am to noon
There have been a number of newcomers joining my classes since Christmas. My experience is that a small number might well decide that Qigong isn’t for them and drop out, so places might become available in the next month or so. Please get in contact if you want me to start a waiting list.
You might also consider my Zoom Shibashi 1,2&3 class, which has spare places, on Thursdays at 4pm.
For information about Qigong see About Qigong.
You will be joining an established group who are keen and friendly with a good grounding in Qigong, run by an experienced Advanced Instructor Member of the Tai Chi & Qigong Union for Great Britain.
We all know what it is like to be a newcomer to the group and we will help you settle in. You will quickly pick it up, join in and start to gain the health benefits of Qigong practice. And you will enjoy the experience!
Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in joining.
Wear loose-fitting clothes and wear flat shoes such as plimsolls, pumps or light trainers. You can also be barefoot, but I don’t advise this when the weather is cold.
When the weather is cold the heating will be on, but with some windows open it is best to wear layers to keep warm.
The charge for each class is £10, payable at the beginning of each class.
Alternatively you can buy a block of 5 classes for £45. There is no time limit for using the advanced payments, so you aren’t disadvantaged if you miss the occasional session due to illness or holiday.
Here is the location on the map: St James Church Hall The hall is a large, pleasant and well-ventilated (plenty of open windows) venue.
On-street parking is available nearby and there are car parks in North Street in front of the Community Centre and behind Tesco. You can cut through to the Parish Hall by the alleyway at the side of the Community Centre .
The car park in Bridge Road is free, but usually full.
